Being selfless 99% of the time is the best option.
If I am going to expect GRACE from others, then I should be giving it two-fold.
It's a privilege to be loved by a PERFECT God.
God didn't wire everyone like me (for a reason!) and there is something to enjoy about everyone I meet.
When I am seeking to please Him, then I will likely please others.... but if I don't, that's OK.
When I let love and faithfulness never leave me and I bind them
around my neck and I write them on the tablet of my heart.... then I
will win favor in the site of God and man. (Proverbs 3:3,4)
And...
If you order fabric by mail, they just might surprise you and throw in a little bag of scraps!
And then all will be right with the world.
