Hair Accessories and Some Baby Love

For our first full week of Summer, Nana came for a visit!  Yippee!  Nana's visits are always a big fat treat!

We finished planting the flower garden...

And watched it rain for a bit.  Ahhhh.... summer rain.

We've done quite a bit of grilling out.  Sliders are our favorite!

Bebe schemed up a plan to take our girls to get "let's celebrate summer" hair feathers.  They both chose pink.

I will always remember the look on Bebe's face when this lady whipped out her selection of larger feathers....
"we'll stick with the smaller ones, but thanks."

These two were quite pleased with their new hair accessories....  pretty stinkin' cute!

Joel thought that Bebe and I should get some.  We declined.

It was fun sharing the experience with Nana!

We also made a trip out to see these two little chicks.... and the rest of their family.

Little Miss has learned how to give some love!

Caroline and Emma created some concoctions in the kitchen....they love to do that.

And these two just like to "whole up" in the room and talk.

And we all got a little dousing of "baby love".

Summertime fun...

... enjoying our moments one splash at a time!

The Evans Family Bed and Breakfast

So thankful for the Evans family who so graciously hosted us for a weekend get-away to Charlotte.
What a great way to start the summer!

It was about this time last year that my dear friend, Elizabeth, broke the news that their family
would be relocating from Anderson to Charlotte in the fall...waaaah.

Needless to say, it was hard to say goodbye.

Their new home in Charlotte is so quaint, and cute, and fun, and charming....
complete with a heated pool in their backyard!
We had the best time swimming and grilling out and fellowshipping!
We talked, and laughed, and talked, and laughed!

These boys acquired their "man voices" since they moved.  Weird.

Andy enjoyed some much needed rest and relaxation after a VERY BUSY SPRING...Praise God for a VERY BUSY SPRING!

When we met this sweet family, everyone was one, three, five, and seven.

So fun to make memories with long time friends!

Sweet Summertime

“After all, …I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but  just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.”
– Anne (Anne of Avonlea)

I am looking forward to a summer full of them!

One Day More...

I have been a teacher for many years now.  I bid goodbye to my first class in 1992.  I was student teaching and I fell madly in love with each one of them.  Some of them still send Christmas cards.
I was particularly fond of Demetrius who found it quite difficult to sit still.  (I could relate.)

Tomorrow I will say farewell to this bunch...

We've had a great year!

Fifteen little lives that God granted ME
the privilege of enjoying for one year.

And now we have just one day more (sounds like a song I know)....

I have fallen madly in love with each one of them and tomorrow I have to say goodbye.

It's the worst part of the job... saying goodbye.

From the Fullness of His Grace

Saturday started with Trader Joe's Hashbrowns...

And Caroline's eggs.... she can make a mean skillet of scrambled eggs.  (Don't ya love the apron that is covering the "Snuggie" that she asked me to tie up with her hair ribbons... and please ignore my sink.)

And then there were treats to be made for the afternoon bake sale.

Then it was off to the Collins' house to do some crafting...

And kiss some babies...

And just have a jolly good time!

After that it was off to a bake sale...

Where there were more babies...

...And fun to be had by all!

I'd say it was a "joy-filled" day!

From His abundance, we have all received one gracious gift after another.  John 1:16
